Do you have any thoughts on similar sightings, or where this sighitng may occur. Is it a UFO or government project? (note the writing on the underside).

| Nigel, after viewing the photos and reading the comments written about the photos it seems that the majority of people believe them to be fake. Many of the people who wrote were model makers and users of 3D computer applications (such as Maya). The photos seem almost too good to be real. This usually is a giveaway. Much work was put into them after the original picture was taken, in other words alot of digital doctoring. Although it is hard to say one way or another without speaking with the photographer and visiting the area in question it is our belief that the photos are a work of art rather then reality.

| Hello, I recently wrote a column about the video of an alleged UFO crash filmed at White Sands, New Mexico, in 1997.
You can see it here: http://www.mystrangenewmexico.com/journal/2007/5/3/ufos-will-crash.html After publishing it, I began receiving e-mails telling me that the video had been made by a man named Ted Loman. In an online interview, Ted Loman said he was given the video by Jaime Maussan. Jaime Maussan has a reputation as a backer of hoaxes. Do you know anything about this video and its connection to one or both of these two men? Do you know about the reputations of these two men? Would they do such a thing? I am writing a follow-up to this piece, to set the record straight, and I would appreciate any help you can give me with this.Thank you,Mike Smith

| Thank you Andres for sharing your find. The clip that you directed us to is certainly thought provoking. However, unless a thorough analysis of the footage is made the only thing we can say about the video is that it truely demonstrates remarkable special effects.

| What physics do UFOs obey?

| Why is it that, although ufo's are reported to fly at incredible speeds, they do not cause a "sonic boom" or at least a thunder clap from the rapid separation of air?. Also they should affect the air medium, and create plasma from the friction of the air in contact with the craft and/or itīs protective shield?

| We like your skepticism Eduardo (sort of 'thinking beyond the bun'...so to speak). Those are good questions. Some reported cases do make mention of a loud sound, some do not. Some reports talk about the UFO emitting a soft glow (perhaps hinting of plasma production), some do not. It's very hard to say exactly what interaction a UFO has with our atmosphere. The only way we can know for sure is to make measurements while a UFO event is taking place. And that, unfortunately, is a very difficult thing to do.

| This site is awesome. I especially love the stuff with Little Alien Guy...teehee! But you must do something about having to include a state when you submit a letter. What happens if they don't live in a state? Like me, I live in New Zealand! And um...you should put Pluto on the planet chart on the front page! I know you can't see it, but it looks incomplete without it there!!! And thats all I have to say. Cool site!!!

| How is the UFO scene down-under Sky? You make some valid observations. We will certainly address the problem encountered by those outside the United States when filling out our forms. And what can we say about poor Pluto. The original intent of the emphemeris was to aid individuals in identifying bright night-time objects. Since Pluto is not visible to the naked eye it was not included. But, seeing as Neptune and Uranus were included, we will consider your concerns and address them sortly.
